Black Folks Dinner 6: The Art Party

  • Black Dot 1160 23rd Avenue Seattle, WA, 98122 United States (map)

Bring your imaginations and leave your inhibitions at home.

Black Folks Dinner 6 will be a beautiful night of art making and music with co-host Jamila Dow and music by DJ Zeta Barber, at the new Black Dot Cultural Innovation Center.

We'll come together with other beautiful black people and unwind our creativity, using materials provided to make our own art and craft. There will be an open mic for those inclined to share spoken word and we'll build an altar to honor the memory of other artists and community members that have passed on. You do not need to be an artist or consider yourself creative to come and have a great time with us.

If you happen to be an artist and have work that you'd like to share, please feel free to bring some of your pieces (photographs, ceramics, dolls, paintings, etc). We'll give you some time throughout the evening to show and share about them.

***BFD is a potluck dinner party*** Bring food and/or drink to share. We encourage you to bring something intentional or meaningful to you. Something from the heart. Through potlucks, we're literally nurturing the bodies of Black Seattle. What will you come with?
